exams..
the first exam ever during these 2 years where we have to counsel patients..there's 3 sections out of 8 sections that involved consultation..the first consultation was regarding non compliance to anti hypertensive medication where the patient wanna change his medication to once daily monotherapy..the next section was a mother who brought her child due to chronic cough. i have to exclude all the possible diagnosis in order to get the provisional diagnosis. it was not 100% suggestive of bronchial asthma since there's no nocturnal symptoms or even SOB and plus the aggravating factor was only cold weather..i just answer confidently, "my provisional is bronchial asthma since there's few symptoms suggestive of asthma and there's strong family history of asthma on paternal site" huu..and the last consultation involving an elderly who came due to diabetic foot and i need to consult him regarding foot care..
yup, alhamdulillah, i do have the idea of what information to be told to the patient but the fact that i don't consult them effectively was undeniable. it was very messy, and it was not in order..huu..sometimes, i have to look back on the question paper and take a glace at the examiner "o dr...do help me +_+" huhu..
delivering is not the same as memorizing..we might memorize everything but we may not deliver everything that been stored in our brain..so PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE..it goes the same to our study..we have to read a lot but remember that we should deliver a lot too..insyaAllah we'll be better in terms of understanding, memorizing and delivering...
SPA interview
i was the 2nd last candidate for room 3..there's 2 interviewer, a SPA officer as well as a doctor..the session was not so long, it only took nearly 15 minutes..they asked me to introduce myself..among the questions are..what is the most memorable moment during these 5 years..what field that i'm interested in for my specialty later on..then the last question is how do i manage dengue patient..alhamdulillah as i mention above i do learn the importance of delivering apart from memorizing..so PRACTICE..PRACTICE and PRACTICE...
Evidence Based Medicine presentation
O Allah, alhamdulillah for Your Gracious gift..the panel was a different doctor and she was very nice..i'm not saying that the actual respective doctor who should be the panel was not nice but this one was a bit lenient..and since we all do a last minute job so everything seems to go well during the session..alhamdulillah we able to answer the question given, and doctor said that we do a good job +_+ wink, wink!!
naa!! don't take for granted..we do mistakes, we should not do last minute preparation..to be honest it was stressful..and we do miss a bit here and there..so as a reminder to everyone and myself..HAVE SOME TIME DOING OUR WORK.DON'T TAKE IT LIGHTLY AND NEVER DO IT LAST MINUTE..cause maybe today we're safe but in the future, who knows..aite...
whatever it is..alhamdulillah the district posting is already over and medical posting is coming through..o Allah do help us for this coming posting..and may us be a better person in order to be a better doctor..insyaAllah..
